NICK REEVES

Nick Reeves is a cellist originally from Oakland, California, living in Chicago. As a chamber musician, Nick has performed in the Valley of the Moon Music Festival, taken part in multiple Musaics of the Bay Artist Residencies, and attended Cortona Sessions in the Netherlands.

Nick has premiered over 20 new works and has been featured on WQXR, KDFC and “Revolutions Per Minute” hosted by pianist Sarah Cahill.

Nick loves improvised music and has had the great opportunity to play with artists including Dan Plonsey, Ari Brown, Lorin Benedict, and Nathan Nakadegawa Lee. Nick recently graduated with honors from Roosevelt University and is currently a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago.

JEREMY KLEIN

Jeremy Klein is a multifaceted musician and violist performing in solo, chamber, orchestral, contemporary, period, and improvised settings, and is also passionate about teaching and community engagement. He has collaborated with living composers on the premiers of many solo and chamber works, in addition to maintaining a serious interest in historical performance. Jeremy has collaborated with Project Music Heals Us as a performer teaching artist in music composition and songwriting courses, in residence at detention facilities in California and New York. He has also participated in several other community engagement and education projects. Currently a CV Starr Doctoral Fellow at the Juilliard School, Jeremy also completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Juilliard where his principal mentors have been Misha Amory, Heidi Castleman, Catherine Cho, and Molly Carr.

Audrey vardanega

Praised as a “[musically] eloquent” (San Francisco Classical Voice) player “with the kind of freedom, authority, and strength…that one expects from the world’s finest pianists” and a “bewitching musical presence” (The Piedmont Post), American pianist and arts entrepreneur Audrey Vardanega (b.1995) has performed as a solo and collaborative pianist across Europe, China, and the United States. In response to her passion for bringing artists together for opportunities for performance, the creation of new work, and interdisciplinary collaboration, Audrey founded Musaics of the Bay in 2019.

Karna Mendonza

Karna Mendonca is a composer-pianist currently living in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Karna began studying composition and piano at age six, and attended summer programs in composition at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Interlochen Arts Academy. He has also played the oboe and alto saxophone in various community orchestras and jazz bands respectively, bringing a wide range of influences to his compositional palate. In addition to composing, Karna is passionate about math and science; he graduated from UC Berkeley in 2022, and is currently pursuing his PhD in computer science at Northeastern University, where he researches machine learning and computational biology.
