The Red Door

ffff

The Red Door is a new performance and recording space in Emeryville which serves as Musaics’ home for concerts and community gatherings.

In addition to being a beautiful and intimate venue for musical performance, it will also serve as an all-analog recording studio and vinyl record listening space.

Adorned with velvet drapes, Persian carpets, eclectic artwork and antiques, the space evokes the presence of a bohemian living room: welcoming, whimsical and relaxed, it invites artists and audiences to drift into the depths of their own inner worlds as they share in evenings of music, art and conversation.

The studio’s crown jewel is an incredibly rare 1881 Steinway Centennial D concert grand piano. Only made from 1876-1881, this model represents the very first concert grand from Steinway, which would go on to define all future models of the instrument up to the present day.

The character and tone of this piano is completely unique, and despite it’s large stature, complements strings and other chamber music instruments perfectly in the intimate setting of the space.
