Join us at the home of Sharona Barzilay for a fundraising concert for Musaics of the Bay, featuring cellist Nick Reeves. Hors d’oeuvres and dinner will be served along with a performance of Bach’s Cello Suites.

ABOUT NICK REEVES

Nick Reeves is a cellist originally from Oakland, California, living in Chicago. As a chamber musician, Nick has performed in the Valley of the Moon Music Festival, taken part in multiple Musaics of the Bay Artist Residencies, and attended Cortona Sessions in the Netherlands.

Nick has performed with the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, Ensemble Affect, and collaborated with Nancy Zhou, Winston Choi, Tanya Tomkins, Peter Myers, Nigel Armstrong, Audrey Vardanega, Marc Destrube, Jeffrey LeDeur, Rachel Wong, Elizabeth Blumenstock, and Jerry Kuderna. Nick has premiered over 20 new works and has been featured on WQXR, KDFC and “Revolutions Per Minute” hosted by pianist Sarah Cahill.

Nick loves improvised music and has had the great opportunity to play with artists including Dan Plonsey, Ari Brown, Lorin Benedict, and Nathan Nakadegawa Lee. Nick recently graduated with honors from Roosevelt University and is currently a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago.
